Testarossa is one of the most famous names in Ferrari history. The name “Testarossa” was first used in 1956 to describe the striking red valve covers on the Ferrari 500 TR engine. Later, the name also appeared in connection with legendary Le Mans winners and a certain supercar that was immortalized on a pin-up poster in the 1980s. Now it returns for a new super sports berlinetta that follows on from the SF90 Stradale: the new 849 Testarossa.
The 849 Testarossa builds on its heritage while embracing cutting-edge technology. Under the hood is a completely newly developed 4.0-liter V8 biturbo with three electric motors. Together, they deliver 1050 hp, accelerate the car to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, and enable a top speed of over 330 km/h. It has a pure electric range of up to 25 km.
Technical highlights include the new ABS Evo, revised springs, and the FIVE driving dynamics system, which uses digital twin technology to optimize all parameters in real time. Those who want even more can choose the Assetto Fiorano package with carbon rims, racing suspension, and weight reduction.
The design of the 849 Testarossa, with its sharp, geometric lines, is very contemporary, while also paying homage to earlier Ferrari models. The front, for example, pays homage to the classic geometries of the 1980s, while the rear is reminiscent of legendary sports prototypes, especially the 512 S with its curved twin exhaust pipes.
The 849 Testarossa thus combines a great history with state-of-the-art hybrid technology – and opens a new chapter for Ferrari.
