In conversation with our driver Amin Arefpour, we dive into the world of the Ferrari Challenge Europe 2025. Amin tells us what drives him, how it feels to push the Ferrari 296 Challenge to its limits—and why there is much more to racing than just speed.
What three words describe you and your racing feeling?
Emotion! Adrenaline! Happiness!
What fascinates you most about this racing series?
That's easy: Ferrari! The road cars are also very special, but it's racing that is in Ferrari's DNA. Racing was a big childhood dream of mine – and that dream has come true with the Ferrari Challenge. For me, the racing series is also the perfect way to get up close and personal with the Ferrari legend. It makes me feel even more like I'm part of a huge family. That's also something I love about this brand: the family feeling.
What goes through your mind right before the start?
At that moment, I try above all to be as relaxed as possible. I also feel a bit like I'm in a tunnel and don't notice much of what's going on around me. I just concentrate on getting through the first corner as well as possible and don't think too much. Because if you think, you lose (laughs).
Is there a moment on the track that you will never forget?
There were many great moments, but there was one that almost brought tears to my eyes: when I crossed the start-finish line at Le Mans for the first time in a Ferrari as a Ferrari driver. The grandstand was full, and I suddenly realized, “I'm driving Le Mans.” It was incredible. Because the combination of Ferrari and Le Mans—it doesn't get any better than that.
When you take off your helmet after the race, what's the first thing you feel?
It usually depends on how the race went and how intense it was. But it's always a mix of emotions. It's definitely a cool feeling that's hard to describe. You have to experience it. On the one hand, you don't want the race to end. On the other hand, you're at the end of your energy and, to be honest, you want to take a shower as soon as possible. In any case, you feel super happy.
Is there a ritual you always do before a race?
Yes, I actually have one. But it's top secret (laughs).
